Looking closely – with care and respect
“The most important answers rarely emerge under pressure – but where someone is allowed to look calmly.”
When concern for a person grows, professionals face difficult questions: Is this serious? Do I need to act? Whom should I involve? Answering such questions on gut feeling alone is a heavy burden – and unfair to the people concerned.
Our assessment tools give these questions a structure. They help to organise observations, recognise protective and risk factors, and justify the next decision well. They never replace conversation or relationship. But they create clarity – so that professionals can act again and the person concerned stays in view.
Our method: data protection from the outset
We have developed a common method for all our tools in which the protection of the people concerned is considered from the very beginning. Each tool is available in two versions:
- Local version – a file that runs entirely in the professional’s browser. There is no connection to a server; nothing is transmitted or stored. The results appear on screen and can be saved as a PDF directly in the institution’s case file.
- Online version – for institutions that wish to evaluate together. The data is stored on a server in Switzerland, IP addresses are not recorded, and abbreviations are used instead of names.
Data is never passed on to us automatically – only when a professional consciously decides to discuss a case with us. This way, responsibility for the data remains where it belongs: with the institution that supports the person.
The tools
- VORFELD – early detection of targeted violence (school shootings and rampages)
Structured initial assessment of warning behaviours, background factors, triggering situations and protective factors in young people and adults. Completely redesigned in 2026. - Initial assessment of radicalisation tendencies – new since 2026
A cross-cutting tool that considers all forms of radicalisation – from political and religious extremism to newer, ideologically mixed forms. - RA-PROF – Islamist radicalisation tendencies
In use since 2016, revised in 2024 and 2026. - Suicidality – assessment for professionals

Structured assessment of a possible risk to children, young people and adults – as a basis for a well-founded report or the next steps. - SiS – protective factors in schools
Assessment of the class and school climate based on ten protective factors, such as group culture, relationships among children and young people, conflict skills, moral courage and participation. Shows what is already working – and where it is worth starting. - SMOB – assessment of bullying
Helps to recognise bullying situations early and to respond appropriately. - School absenteeism
Helps to understand what lies behind absences, with a tiered support model and recommendations for school, family and professionals. Can also be completed together with the pupil. - The five pillars of identity (after Petzold)
A conversation guide that makes visible what sustains a person: body, social network, work and achievement, material security and values.
The tools are currently available in German. If you have any questions, please get in touch.
What the tools are not
Our tools come in early. They help professionals decide whether and how to act. They do not replace a risk assessment by the cantonal threat management service or a specialist medical assessment.
A tool for your question
Would you like to use one of our tools, or do you need one of your own for your institution? Tell us about your question. Together we will develop a solution that suits you – with an introduction for your team and support during the first phase.
